Answer: RM462.50 friends

Hmm... looks like I am not getting much response in my previous blog entry's survey. :(

-sigh-

Anyway, the truth is that my ex-coursemates are organizing a gathering at Genting Highlands on this coming 6th of December which will last for 3 days. Participation itself will cost me RM200.

At the same time, 8th of December is a public holiday due to Hari Raya Haji. Taking a leave on this day is equivalent to RM262.50 going down the drain.

The total is now RM462.50.

I also observed from the work schedule that 6th of December is the day where I have to work OT... which will net me another RM168.75.

The total has increased to RM631.25.

Assuming that I managed to get 1 of my colleagues to give me his / her OT on Sunday the 7th, that will be another RM225 going into my wallet.

Therefore, the grand total will be RM856.25.

Anyway, thanks to all who replied in my previous blog entry. :) I decided not to post any comment as it would have rendered this post entry useless.

Before I forget, just to let you all know that I have booked myself a place for the gathering. If it is possible for you to be at Genting Highlands on any of that 3 particular days, do give me a ring and let us meet up. :)

Why don't u just drop off the gathering thing in Genting, and join us in the trip to SG during Raya? There will be LT2 gathering in SG then ... better than T2 in Genting ... right?
Give it a thought ...

Your suggestion came long after I paid the RM200 deposit for the Genting Highlands gathering.

Another thing to consider will be the fact that I do not own any passport. That will be RM300 gone before I even booked myself a place to Singapore.

Even if I were to go up and meet up with you, you wont have time for me and ah yin lo ha wa?

Says who?

Ah Yin will have the 1st priority. You are 2nd. Not bad, eh?

Make sure you walk the talk, OK?

I never know that our friendship can be calculated like this. :(

Anyway, if you feel that it's not worth it then you can draw back. It's not very late yet.

We're not forcing anyone to join this gathering also.

Wei wei... this is just a survey in the first place. >.<"

You are taking it too seriously.

you cant no count in the indirect money that you lose, when you plan your gathering at genting.

at here, i mean the OT income $, taking leave....etc.

this is totally bias.
because u also get benefit from the $ that you lose, so, it cant be considered the cost.

e.g. during the whole trip, you may need to stop at halfway of the highway to piss, each piss cause you RM0.50, say total 4 pisses, will you count in this RM2?

i dont think so.

if you really think this is also part of the cost, i suggest you count in the $ that you have taken, when you conduct this survey, i.e. your internet fee, your electricity fee....etc.

The RM200 has already been paid. Direct cost.

The RM262.50 is also a direct cost since 8th of December is a working day. Keep in mind that Taiwan does not celebrate Hari Raya Haji.

I have to admit that the rest are just speculations but hey... I did not calculate in the OT on the 6th and 7th of December in my entry title, did I?

Nevertheless, you guys are starting to frighten me with all these serious comments.

I guess I really have to start writing something that everyone can agree upon... wholeheartedly.

Advice: Never talk about friendship and monetary value in the same breath.

It saves lives.

Hey guys, whats wrong in this entry in the first place? This is a simple entry by TEH, talking bout gathering in Genting and $$ that he has to fork out, and due to his is a SHIFT guy, unlike some of us who works normal shift and will get replacement holiday, so he has more to consider in here ok? We are just coming out to this working world, be considerate and he has his own financial plan, we have our owns too. At first, I also plan to join the gathering, but i drop off this gathering in the last minute due to $$ reason, so what?

Did him mention that the gathering thing doesn't worth the $$ and time he has to give?
You know, out of our LT2 members, TEH is the first one who saying wanna join this gathering, before knowing the details well. He told me he wants to take this chance meet up with old friends. Even scold me for dropping off the gathering cuz of $$.

Yeah, friendship can't be calculated by $$, but in some circumstances, we, ourselves calculated whether worth it or not when our friends ask us out, don't we?

Who said that TEH is this kind of person? Come on, we know him for years ok? Don't we know him well enough? I am here backing him up.
Although we stay and work in Penang, but due to I am busy, we postponed our dinner for weeks, and you know what ...
TEH purposely took leave yesterday, so that we can have dinner together. Even if he told me how many $$ he had to lose, I won't mind at all, cuz I know him well. I know that he is just saying that out, but he really doesn't mind about the $$ thing more than our friendship.
