My working life is not even 3 months old and yet, I have already used my precious annual leave for vacation. Good start?
I escaped to Genting Highland last Friday, April the 6th with some colleagues of mine. The reason was simple enough. All of us needed some time off to release the stress that has been building up in our head. However, the nearer the day of departure gets, the more anxious and stressed I become.
矛盾!
Anyway, we managed to reach Genting Highland at around noon after a few hours of driving. Since all of us are licensed drivers, we took turns to drive as some of us were not so familiar with the way up to Genting Highland.
I drove for... 0 KM.
It has been approximately 2 years since I last been to Genting Highland. Nothing much has changed here. Therefore, I made it a point to make some changes to myself instead.
My 1st visit to Genting Highland was when I was in Form 4. The Corkscrew, which used to be the biggest attraction in the Genting Theme Park was my first roller coaster ride. It was fun even though the thought of the roller coaster getting derailed and plunging down the ravine was not something pleasant.
My 2nd visit was during the holiday after I finished Form 6. Things were not so smooth this time around. I just recovered from a freak accident which had me plummeting down the hillside on the way up to the Air Itam dam. DAMN! As a result, I had to skip most of the Genting Theme Park rides due to height phobia.
3rd visit was more or less still the same. The fear was still there and most of the rides were stopped due to the thick fog and rain. Blessing in disguise? :S
This time was my 4th time stepping into Genting Highland and I had set my aim on conquering my fear, once and for all. I had to keep telling myself not to waste the RM40 that I have forked out to get into the Genting Theme Park. The only way I would consider myself victorious: survive the Space Shot ride, which I had always imagined myself fainting if I were to ride on it.
1st ride: Spinner
Passed even though I was slightly nervous when it tilted.
2nd ride: Pirate Ship
Passed with nothing much to worry about.
3rd ride: Grand Prix Fun Kart
I started at 9th place and ended up as 1st runner up.
Audition for Malaysia's next F1 driver.
4th ride: SPACE SHOT
I swear! This is the mother of all rides in the Genting Theme Park. If you survive this ride, you would have absolutely no problem with all the other rides at all. Surprisingly, I managed to endure the torment of being pulled down from approximately 60 meters above ground at 76 KM/H. Is this the same feeling as those who jumped to their death?
5th ride: Corkscrew
The picture above is fake. If I remember correctly, there are only 2 360° loops. As I have said, any rides after the Space Shot would be as easy as ABC.
6th ride: Boating
I was been reluctantly pulled by my colleagues to hop into the boat. Nothing looks more gayish than 2 guys sitting next to each another in a small boat in the middle of the lake.
Brokeback Boat?
7th ride: Sungai Rejang Flume Ride
This ride wetted my pants... due to the splashing water.
After all these rides, there was nothing much to do other than loitering around in the Genting Indoor Theme Park and casinos.
The next day, we drove down to... Kuala Lumpur! If you were wondering why I am so excited, let us just assume that I have never been to Kuala Lumpur before. :P
Since the Space Shot is my suicide attempt # 1, I wonder what my suicide attempt # 2 will be? Bungee jumping, anyone?
