Sibelium > Propanolol > Neurontin

Today I skipped work to PAY THE DOCTOR (RM82.50) another visit. I still have at least 2 spots on my head that hurts when I applied an amount of pressure on them.

Thanks to the House medical series, I cannot help thinking that I need another more detailed CT / MRI scan even though my previous CT scan showed nothing abnormal. Dr. Chan said that it is now just a matter of getting me the right, suitable, working drugs.

Why drugs but not medicine, you ask? Well, as long as I am not prescribed with something that actually works, it shall be termed as drugs since it plays no role in patching me up.

First, it was Sibelium.

Then, it became Propanolol which gave me troublesome side effects such as insomnia and occasional pounding headache sessions. I was so disturbed that I have to delay my next appointment with Dr. Chan to ensure that these were in fact side effects from Propanolol and not my headache getting any worse.

Moral of the story so far? Say no to drugs. Google up the drugs that were prescribed to you before taking them in order to get yourself ready for the side effects.

For example, the latest drugs that was prescribed to me, Neurontin. I was taken aback when the pharmacist handed me the drugs which has a big Pfizer logo on it. If you cannot relate Pfizer to anything, you must be a female for all the males on this planet knows that Pfizer = Viagra.

Drugs.com claimed that Neurontin is mainly prescribed to treat seizures and nerve pain. OK, that is related but guess what I found about the side effects?

  • dizziness, poor coordination or drowsiness
  • blurred or double vision
  • irregular back-and-forth movements of the eyes
  • nausea and vomiting
  • tremor
WTF?!

How am I going to survive all these? :'(

Cloverfield

Recently, I have nothing much to write about as I am still waiting for the 100% recovery of my headache. I was supposed to visit the doctor last January the 15th but decided to give myself a week of free-from-medicine rest. If headache_subsided = recovery_in_process, then things are definitely going the way I had hoped them to be.

Last Saturday I dragged myself to watch Cloverfield at Queensbay Mall. Prior to catching the movie, I have browsed through the Internet for some reviews but most of them were from disappointed viewers. Heck, just not too long ago I received a SMS from one of my friends advising me to stay away from Cloverfield. :P

If you are planning to catch this movie, a few words of advice:

  • Buy seats that are as far away from the screen as possible.
  • Bring along a bottle of medicated oil if you are not a frequent FPS (first person shooter) games player in case you suffered from motion sickness.
  • Do not expect an A-Z complete storyline. Just imagine yourself as the person that is holding the camera.
  • Watch the last scene in Coney Island carefully.
I am not going to post anymore spoilers but overall, I am pretty satisfied with Cloverfield and strongly recommend it as long as you adhere to the few points I mentioned above.
