A few weeks ago, I received a SMS from Tien Han informing me that his grandmother has passed away. I knew that he was pretty close to his grandmother therefore it was not something easy for him to go through. Nevertheless, from what I read in his blog, he managed to get things under control in a short period of time.
A week later, I received another news that one of my ex-schoolmate's father has been admitted into hospital due to cancer. This guy on the other hand tried too much at putting the issue aside that it did not go very well for him. When some of us gracefully rejected his invitation for actitivities that he has planned, this guy got so frustrated that he regretted coming back to Penang during his recent academic holiday.
I can only guess that different people has their own level of capabilities in handling irreversible bad news. Hold on a second... since when death is a "reversible" situation? It is a sad fact that since the day we were born, death has been written as the end of our chronology of life. Each person that we see with our own naked eyes will one day come face to face with death.
Therefore, we were being taught since small not to take things for granted. I have always been repeatedly reminded to treat every single day as if it would be the last day of not only my own life, but of others as well. Alas, there were times when I got to lazy or careless only to be brought back to reality on the fragility of life when something bad happened to me or the person that I am close to.
For example, 2001 marked the year my mom passed away.
2 years later I survived a freak car accident that made me realise the importance of introducing my girlfriend to my family member. At that particular moment when the car was tumbling down the ravine, the only thought that brushed through my mind was "How do I tell my girlfriend that I am dead?" It might sound sarcastic when you are sitting comfortably in your chair reading this but trust me, things are totally different when this short thought is the only thing you can conjure up before the car hits the bottom of the slope in 3 seconds.
In addition, my girlfriend has never failed to land me in panic-stricken state when she did not respond to my telephone call or missed a promised call-back. I would have definitely been much richer if I were to collect RM1 from her for each time she caused me to get anxious. However, optimistically speaking, she has actually indirectly reminded me that like a tiny flame burning on a candle, I could lose her anytime anywhere.
The only advice that I can offer to those who are new to the experience of losing someone is to accept their departure. They have left their memories engraved in your heart and rejecting their demise will only waste those memories away. Last but not least, condolences to all that have learnt to look forward and went on with life.

Long hiatus
It has been very long since I last posted a single alphabet on this blog of mine. To be frank, I do not really see the importance of constantly updating my blog as there is not much reader anyway.
Without delaying any furhter, listed below are top 5 reasons why I have been procrastinating for the past 2 months:
5.) My blog does not have much reader to worry about. I can safely postpone my next update to a year later and still, none of you would be yelling at me to pen something down. I write for myself and those close to me, not for the public.
4.) I have been playing Silkroad Online a lot recently. Compared to the other MMORPG like Maple Story, Silkroad Online is definitely much more exciting and captivating. The job system is a good diversion when you are too bored of non-stop grinding and leveling. It is just too bad that I discovered this game a little too late. If I were still jobless, expect me to go around killing noobs. :D
3.) Working life in Dell sucks... I mean it sucks away the essence of life from me. By the time I reach home after work, I am either too tired or sleepy that I do not have much personal time left. The amount of tax to pay for earning money is pretty ridiculous as well. Working is wallet taxing, mentally taxing and physically taxing. WTF?!
2.) Recently I have been successfully assimilated into the Enterprise Technical Support department. To be frank, I missed my Precision Workstation department colleagues very much. Adjusting myself in a new working environment and team has never been easy that I have even considered throwing down the letter.
1.) MY GIRLFIEND IS IN PENANG! :D Unfortunately, she will be going back to her university this coming early July. Good things do not last long.
There you go. Finally my blog is updated again. ;)

Suicide attempt # 1
My working life is not even 3 months old and yet, I have already used my precious annual leave for vacation. Good start?
I escaped to Genting Highland last Friday, April the 6th with some colleagues of mine. The reason was simple enough. All of us needed some time off to release the stress that has been building up in our head. However, the nearer the day of departure gets, the more anxious and stressed I become.
矛盾!
Anyway, we managed to reach Genting Highland at around noon after a few hours of driving. Since all of us are licensed drivers, we took turns to drive as some of us were not so familiar with the way up to Genting Highland.
I drove for... 0 KM.
It has been approximately 2 years since I last been to Genting Highland. Nothing much has changed here. Therefore, I made it a point to make some changes to myself instead.
My 1st visit to Genting Highland was when I was in Form 4. The Corkscrew, which used to be the biggest attraction in the Genting Theme Park was my first roller coaster ride. It was fun even though the thought of the roller coaster getting derailed and plunging down the ravine was not something pleasant.
My 2nd visit was during the holiday after I finished Form 6. Things were not so smooth this time around. I just recovered from a freak accident which had me plummeting down the hillside on the way up to the Air Itam dam. DAMN! As a result, I had to skip most of the Genting Theme Park rides due to height phobia.
3rd visit was more or less still the same. The fear was still there and most of the rides were stopped due to the thick fog and rain. Blessing in disguise? :S
This time was my 4th time stepping into Genting Highland and I had set my aim on conquering my fear, once and for all. I had to keep telling myself not to waste the RM40 that I have forked out to get into the Genting Theme Park. The only way I would consider myself victorious: survive the Space Shot ride, which I had always imagined myself fainting if I were to ride on it.
1st ride: Spinner
Passed even though I was slightly nervous when it tilted.
2nd ride: Pirate Ship
Passed with nothing much to worry about.
3rd ride: Grand Prix Fun Kart
I started at 9th place and ended up as 1st runner up.
Audition for Malaysia's next F1 driver.
4th ride: SPACE SHOT
I swear! This is the mother of all rides in the Genting Theme Park. If you survive this ride, you would have absolutely no problem with all the other rides at all. Surprisingly, I managed to endure the torment of being pulled down from approximately 60 meters above ground at 76 KM/H. Is this the same feeling as those who jumped to their death?
5th ride: Corkscrew
The picture above is fake. If I remember correctly, there are only 2 360° loops. As I have said, any rides after the Space Shot would be as easy as ABC.
6th ride: Boating
I was been reluctantly pulled by my colleagues to hop into the boat. Nothing looks more gayish than 2 guys sitting next to each another in a small boat in the middle of the lake.
Brokeback Boat?
7th ride: Sungai Rejang Flume Ride
This ride wetted my pants... due to the splashing water.
After all these rides, there was nothing much to do other than loitering around in the Genting Indoor Theme Park and casinos.
The next day, we drove down to... Kuala Lumpur! If you were wondering why I am so excited, let us just assume that I have never been to Kuala Lumpur before. :P
Since the Space Shot is my suicide attempt # 1, I wonder what my suicide attempt # 2 will be? Bungee jumping, anyone?
